The Maxxis Tyres Pro Lites Championship is often looked upon as the breeding ground for the next biggest star in Australian motocross, as competitors do battle on the same tracks as the bigger Pro Open competitors except on 125cc two stroke or 250cc four stroke motorcycles. National Marketing Manager for Maxxis Tyres, Peter Coffey said that Maxxis was proud to continue its association with motocross in Australia considering the current growth being experienced by the sport. "Maxxis Tyres is 100% committed to motocross racing and the Nokia MX Nationals is the breeding ground that has produced our best ‰Û÷world-class' riders," said Coffey. "Over the past 5 years Maxxis has become synonymous with motocross in Australia and we look forward to developing that relationship further into 2006 and beyond." Kevin Williams, Series Promoter of the Nokia MX Nationals welcomed Maxxis' continued support of motocross and looks forward to progressing the growth currently being experienced by the sport in Australia. "Without the support of Maxxis Tyres over the last five years, the Australian Motocross Championship would not have grown at the rate it has," Williams said, "I am extremely happy to have Maxxis Tyres sponsor the Pro Lites championship and continue its partnership with Australia's premier motocross category." "Worldwide, Maxxis Tyres has shown it is dedicated to the Off-Road market through a range of varied sponsorships and I believe the company's decision to sponsor the Pro Lites is further evidence of this commitment." "I would like to take this opportunity to thank Maxxis for their previous support of the Australian Motocross Championship and look forward to continuing the productive relationship between our two organisations." In addition to holding naming rights sponsorship of the Pro Lites championship, Maxxis Tyres will continue to be the official tyre of the Nokia MX Nationals. The Maxxis Tyres Pro Lites Championship will commence at Wanneroo Park in Western Australia on Sunday 2 April 2006.
