Round 5 of the UEM Superstock 600cc Championship was held in near perfect conditions at the Motorland Aragon circuit in Spain yesterday.
Matt Davies continues to impress aboard the GO ELEVEN Kawasaki and his natural talent was apparent in Spain as the youngster from Australia qualified his 600cc machine in an impressive 7th position only 0.7 seconds from Pole Position, his best ever grid position in the class.
As the lights went out in the restarted race Matt made one of his usual lightning starts and was up to 4th before dropping back to fifth position where he would stay until the final lap when a mistake at the hairpin saw the reigning European Junior Cup Champion highside his Kawasaki machine.
Davies clung on and despite almost crashing crossed the line to claim his first top six finish in the series.
The result moves matt up to 13th in the Championship.
The race was won by Ricardo Russo from Dutch rider Michael Van Der Mark whilst Gaulthier Duwelz rounded out the podium finishers.
