Relative Freestyle Motocross newcomer Mark Monea, has his eyes firmly set on X Games success in Los Angeles, California this Friday June 30, in the ‰Û÷Moto X Best Trick‰Ûª event.
Monea, shot to fame just over 12 months ago, when he landed his signature ‰Û÷Carry On‰Ûª trick for the first time. The stunt, also commonly referred to as a ‰Û÷Front Flip 360,‰Ûª has only been landed in competition by Monea once, at the Monster Energy Cup in Las Vegas last October, giving him the victory on that occasion. Monea created the trick in its current form and is the only one to land it.
If the 28 year old from Koo Wee Rup in Victoria is successful, he would be a serious medal threat, in what is arguably the most ‰Û÷extreme‰Ûª event in extreme sports.
Relocating to California early last week, Kawasaki mounted Monea will spend every spare moment practising into a foam pit.
Landing the ‰Û÷Carry On‰Ûª in the Staples Centre (LA) is a matter of unfinished business, after he crashed whilst attempting the trick no handed, at X Games last year.
‰ÛÏLast year, was a big learning experience for me. The X Games is such a huge event. Having one under my belt now will definitely help. I know I‰Ûªm capable of landing my trick ‰ÛÒ I‰Ûªm just really looking forward to doing it.‰Û
