Liam Everts made a successful return to racing at the MXGP of Sweden, just weeks after sustaining a sacral fracture at the GP of Finland while leading the race.
The Belgian showed resilience and speed on his Nestaan Husqvarna FC250, finishing eighth overall in his first outing back.
Uddevalla’s historic Glimminge Motorstadion presented riders with a hard-pack surface littered with ruts and bumps, testing precision and fitness. The 21-year-old wasted no time reminding the paddock of his ability, qualifying seventh before delivering an inspired ride in the opening moto. Launching into second place early, he held strong inside the top three until the final laps, crossing the line in fourth.

The second race was more measured as Everts focused on completing his comeback weekend with solid points. He maintained a steady rhythm to bring it home in ninth, enough to secure eighth overall and a confidence-boosting return to the MX2 World Championship.
Reflecting on his comeback, Everts said it was simply a relief to be back on the grid: “It feels great just to be back behind the gate again after a long time away. To finish 4-9 for eighth overall is really positive for me and the team. In the first moto I felt strong – running second for a while and then fighting inside the top three until the final laps. The second race was more about riding consistently and making sure we scored points. I’m happy with how the comeback went and now I’m excited to keep building from here.”
Everts now sits seventh in the MX2 standings, with four rounds remaining in the 2025 championship and plenty of time to climb higher as his form and confidence continue to grow.
