Two Two Motorsports sole rider, Chad Reed, has missed a spot on the box contesting the Monster Energy AMA Supercross series for the second consecutive week in a row.

Coming away with safe, consistent but unsatisfying points, Reed is determined to step up his game after the Phoenix round held at Chase field, Arizona.

Reed who was six and twelfth in the morning practice also finished 4th place in his 8 lap heat race in qualifying for the main event at Phoenix

The 30 year old now sits 9 points shy of series leader and Rockstar Suzuki rider Davi Millsaps.

Finishing in what seems to be unusual territory for the TwoTwo motorsports Honda rider we take a quick chat with Lars Lindstrom, Chad Reeds head mechanic/wrench to get his views on the current results and standings

Fullnoise: Lars another 4th place was on the cards for TwoTwo Motorsports here at Phoenix this week?

Lars: Yeah we got 4th again. Chad rode a little bit better than he performed at Anaheim but it is still not what he is capable of doing. In saying that he and our team are going in the right direction moving forward.

Fullnoise: How is Chad handling finishing just outside the podium and of valuable Supercross points?

Lars: He is definitely not happy with 4th place. Especially the way he got 4th again. You know last week he got a little bit of a gift from those guys.

This week he rode alot better and deserved it more. We believe he deserved to be on the podium and he deserved to be third.

Fullnoise: What prevented Chad from grabbing that vital 3rd place position?

Lars: Chad had a pretty hard time with Davi (Millsaps) and kind of got stuck in that respect. Also the track was really hard to pass on in every section. I and the team definitely felt like he could have got a podium tonight at Phoenix.

Fullnoise: Which aspect of the bike did you spend improving on throughout the days schedule?

Lars: Mainly the suspension, testing different suspension components and trying to get the new suspension we are running to work for him.

We were changing stuff all day, that's the way he is, Chad likes to change things and tries to test a lot of things. A lot of guys like and tend to stick to one thing but with Chad he likes to change it alot. So we have been changing everything with suspension all day long.

Fullnoise: The plan for TwoTwo Motorsports and Chad for the coming week heading into A2?

Lars: We will hopefully ride the same motorcycle all week. Spend a lot of time testing and working on different things with the bike. The aim is to be a little bit more comfortable in time for the next race at Anaheim.

Fullnoise: Cheers Lars all the best with this weeks progress
