It was April last year that 2006 Australian Pro Lites Motocross Champion, Ryan Marmont had to withdraw from the 2007 series due to injury. His withdrawal saw him lose the number one plate for the Pro Lites Championship, as his missed the entire motocross season. Following the opening round of the 2008 Championship last weekend in Penguin TAS, Marmont is in a position where he needs to make up some ground to regain his status and is looking at Horsham to stamp his authority. Marmont said, ‰ÛÏThe last time I rode with Motorex KTM Racing at Horsham I won, it‰Ûªs a favourite track of mine and I‰Ûªm determine to make up some points after a disappointing first round in Tassie last weekend. ‰ÛÏThe competition in the Pro Lites class has really stepped up with young guys who have come through the Under 19s ranks putting in some solid lap times. ‰ÛÏI‰Ûªm sitting in fifth place which isn‰Ûªt ideal, but this is a nine round Championship and I‰Ûªm only 13 points off the leader Luke George, so no ranking can really be decided this early. ‰ÛÏI‰Ûªm determined to gain back the number one plate, and I‰Ûªve been putting in some solid testing on the KTM 250 SX-F to ensure I‰Ûªm in a position where I need to be to win.‰Û
