Williams Event Management have announced that it will introduce the KTM 2 Stroke National at Coolum‰Ûªs final round of the Monster Energy MX Nationals on the Sunshine Coast next month.
The Coolum round will mark the final round of the 2012 Australian Motocross Championship on 25-26 August, with KTM coming on board as title sponsor of the all-new category specific to two-stroke engines.
Once the common dominator of motocross competition, two-strokes are more of a rarity in the current era of the sport, with long time enthusiasts remaining huge fans of the unique exhaust notes of the two-stroke brigade.
The MX Development category for Under 19s competitors this season has witnessed a thrilling upswing of two-stroke might to date, with that series currently led by Kiwi talent Kayne Lamont aboard a 250 SX.
