KTM Enduro Factory Support Team rider David Knight has claimed victory in the Elite class at rounds one and two of the newly formed British Enduro Sprint Championship.
Dominating both days of competition aboard his 530 KTM Knight set the fastest times during every special test of the event finishing day one two-and-a-half minutes ahead of KTM factory team-mate Taddy Blazusiak and over two minutes ahead on day two.
With track conditions perfect during both days of competition the event provided Knight with ideal training ahead of the start of the '10 Enduro World Championship. Winning each of the opening rounds' nine special tests Knight got faster and faster as the day progressed, enjoying a comfortably winning margin come the close of the demanding first round of the series.
Day two saw Knight once again dominate the Elite class. With the track reversed from day one it wasn't long before David held a commanding lead and on completion of the seven special tests was two-minutes ahead of his nearest competitor Taddy Blazusiak.
‰Û÷I've had a great weekend. I was sure that the weekend would be great practice for me ahead of the start of the Enduro World Championship, and it was," Knight professed.
"It was the best thing that I could have done. Everything about the event was great - the racing, the social side of things in the paddock, even the weather. Things went perfectly for me during both days.
"The course was great, a really good mix of different styles of terrain and obstacles. The important thing for me was to keep pushing hard throughout both days, which I did. I spent the week before the event testing suspension and the new settings we came up with worked perfectly. I had no problems during the event, didn't make too many mistakes and really enjoyed the event. Winning both days was great, as was meeting so many of the people that came along to watch the event. It was a great event," Knight concluded.
