Ken Roczen unbeatable at ADAC MX Masters

Posted:

Teka Suzuki Europe World MX2 registered an authoritative 1-2 across the dirt of Moggers as the German ADAC MX Master championship entered its sixth round from eight by making the journey outside of Germany and into Austrian territory.

Ken Roczen increased his advantage at the top of the standings with a dominant 1-1 scorecard while Arnaud Tonus went 2-2 for his first podium in the competitive national series; the RM-Z250s of the riders proving excellent foils against the larger machinery of the mixed premier category.

In the first long moto Roczen and Tonus captured an impressive 1-2 across the Moggers soil that usually provides a hard-pack test but Saturday night rain had softened the surface. The German set a lap more than two seconds faster than his team-mate - the next quickest - and reached the finish line with a comfortable distance of almost 30 seconds over the Swiss who had pulled through from the bottom reaches of the top ten..

In the next outing the engine potency of the RM-Z250 was again highlighted when Roczen took an impressive holeshot against a field full of 450cc machinery and escaped without hindrance. This time Roczen's margin was 25 seconds with Tonus also able to relax once he had come through to another second place.

"I'm really happy with my riding today and the bike is awesome out of the gate; like it has been for the last races," said Roczen who now leads the series by more than 40 points. "It always feels so good to win. It doesn't matter if it a GP or any other race. This was good preparation for Brazil and I guess similar conditions we will find at Campo Grande."

While the penultimate round of the national campaign will take place in two weeks at the former GP venue of Gaildorf, Teka Suzuki Europe World MX2 will be back on Grand Prix duty with the Brazilian round representing the 13th appointment on the 2010 FIM Motocross World Championship calendar this coming weekend. Roczen will be chasing his ninth podium of the season on his way to cementing the number '2' plate for 2011.
