Kawasaki has unveiled the all-new 2027 KX327X and KX327, introducing the manufacturer’s first newly developed fuel-injected two-stroke engine larger than 250cc in more than 20 years.
At the heart of both models is a new 327cc fuel-injected, liquid-cooled two-stroke single-cylinder engine paired with a chassis derived from the KX450 motocross platform. Kawasaki says the engine has been developed to deliver strong low-rpm and mid-range performance with a broad, controllable torque curve suited to off-road riding conditions.
The fuel injection system automatically compensates for changes in temperature and altitude, eliminating the need for jetting adjustments. A newly developed exhaust valve system controls both the main and sub exhaust ports, continuously adjusting exhaust timing to provide more consistent power delivery throughout the rev range.

The engine is matched to a lightweight aluminium perimeter frame based on the KX450. Kawasaki says the frame’s rigidity balance and lower pipe layout have been optimised for cross-country riding, including obstacle navigation and technical terrain.
Suspension consists of a 48mm inverted AOS coil-spring fork and Uni-Trak rear suspension, while braking is handled by Nissin components with a 270mm front disc and 240mm rear petal disc.
The KX327X cross-country model is equipped with a six-speed transmission, including a lower first gear designed to improve performance in technical sections and when negotiating obstacles. A hydraulic clutch is fitted to provide lighter lever action and maintain a consistent feel during prolonged use.

The KX327X also comes standard with electric start, hand guards, a skid plate, linkage guard, rear brake disc guard, side stand and an 8.6-litre semi-transparent fuel tank. Riders can switch between two engine maps using a handlebar-mounted selector switch.
Smartphone connectivity is provided through Kawasaki’s RIDEOLOGY THE APP KX2 system, which allows riders to record riding logs using GPS, monitor engine information and receive maintenance reminders.
The motocross-focused KX327 shares its platform with the KX327X but features several changes aimed at closed-course competition. These include a 19-inch rear wheel instead of the 18-inch rear fitted to the cross-country model, a close-ratio five-speed transmission and the removal of the hand guards, skid plate, linkage guard, rear disc guard and side stand.

Both models feature slim bodywork based on Kawasaki’s current KX styling, with adjustable ergonomics that include four handlebar positions and two footpeg positions. ODI Lock-On grips are fitted as standard.
The KX327X and KX327 will both be offered in Lime Green.
Kawasaki has not yet released full technical specifications, with official specifications expected to be announced at a later date.
