Josh Hansen and Taka Higashino are the first two riders to claim gold at the 2013 X-Games held inside the Staples Centre in Los Angeles in the United States of America.
Hansen threw a plethora of crazy whips turning his bike inside out and upside down do win the Best Whip competition, an event that is decided purely on a live viewer vote.
The Six invited riders had 6 minutes in a free for all contest, with riders continuously taking it in turns to throw down their best whip, while at the same time viewers live at the venue, watching online or live on Television tweeted in who they thought was most deserving of the title for best whip.
Early on in the voting process the votes were swinging between event favourite, Jeremy 'Twitch' Stenberg, Josh Hansen and the first ever female contested in the event, Vicki Golden.
When the votes closed, it was Hansen who claimed a very deserving victory with a massive 42% of the public vote, Stenberg held down second with 24% of the vote, while Golden became the first Female athlete to win a medal in a X-Games Freestyle Moto event with 21% of the public vote.
Australian Robbie Maddison had plenty of support from his Australian fans finishing 4th with 8% of the vote.
In the Freestyle competition it was Japanese rider Taka Higashino who produced to solid runs, each scoring 90 points to edge out American Adam Jones who also scored 90 points in his second run for the win.
With the two riders tied on points, the decision was based on each riders other run, with Higashino's 90 points in his first run easily out scoring Jones first run score of 82.66.
American Nate Adams rounded out the podium with a score of 88, while Kiwi Levi Sherwood missed out on a medal by the slimmest of margins, putting in a flawless run only to score a 87.66 points.
Early in the event Australian riders were looking good, with Jackson Strong, Rob Adelberg and Blake Williams all spending time either at the top of the standings or in a podium position.
Things did not finish well for Strong, with a final jump crash in his second run, while attempting his signature move causing him to be helped from the arena floor and leaving him in 9th spot.
Adleberg finished as the topped ranked Aussie in 5th, followed by Williams in 6th.
