After making the difficult decision to decline the opportunity to represent Australia in the Oceania Championships earlier this year due to
other racing commitments, Jesse Dobson is all set to make the trip across the Tasman to compete in the New Zealand
Junior Nationals at Marlborough on the south island from the 16th - 18th April.
Queensland based Dobson will be racing a 125cc KTM in the 12-14 class.
In 2007 the Shell RXT Pro Griffin KTM rider was given the opportunity by Jeff Leisk from KTM Australia to compete in the NZ Nationals in the 85 cc 9-12 year old class and brought home the number one plate.
"The tracks in NZ are awesome. I love racing over there and doing fiftenn minute motos + one lap, with five races is a real
test of your fitness." commented Dobson.
Jesse has just recently stepped up to the bigger 85cc class after winning the 2009 Australian Junior Title and is
putting some of the fastest lap times in at the Qld based Shell Series.
He is currently sitting in second spot after
a little bad luck in the opening round. He has also been training on the bigger KTM 150sx and is moving in leaps and
bounds. His first race on the KTM 150sx will be this weekend at the first round of the NSW titles in Woolongong.
"I love the way the big bike corners, its awesome.", said Dobson.
A big thankyou goes to Campbell Mining Services, Cannon and Kim Smith, KTM, Mossy and MPE Suspension
for making this happen.
Jesse has also been invited to compete in selected races in the USA later in 2010 and 2011
by a new major sponsor with details being released soon.
