The privateer from Qld was just piped at the post by Jess Gardiner.
Aboard her WR250 fresh out of the crate, Jemma put in solid performances each day but had trouble breaking free from the youngster. It all came down to the final moto: "Yeah I had a great start and was sitting sweet till I mis-shifted a gear into a corner forcing me to run in hot and I dropped the bike". Jemma explained.
"I worked hard to get back in the moto but it just wasn't enough again this year, I'm wondering if I am ever going to win of these things"!
Jemma's support network in between races is a big part of what keeps her on the bike and getting from town to town racing. Without the support of the big teams in the Enduro scene Jemma is a standout not only as a competitor but as a person.
She has a great personality and a smile for miles. If you are looking for a great athlete with fantastic presence, Jemma would be a great asset to any brand out there.
On a recent photo shoot with her clothing sponsor Rampant, Jemma admitted she had a "fun time" in front of the lens. "Yeah the shots came out great. It was an experience for sure hanging at Bianca Whytes place (fellow Rampant girl)."
"We did some around-the pool-shots, kicked back in the lounge room, a few more portrait shots, then hit the track for some on-the-bike shots. It was a bunch of fun."
Wilson, ranked fourth in the world (from results at the 2009 ISDE) and is the current Queensland and Australian Women‰Ûªs Enduro Champion.
Jemma would like to thank her sponsors: Caboolture Motorcycles, GYTR, Yamalube, Rampant Clothing, Fox, MSC Steering Stabilisers, Kwala MX, FTD Decals and Paul Baericke‰Ûªs MPE Suspension.
