Current Australian Women's Off Road number one, Jemma Wilson has been sidelined from racing indefinitely, suffering two fractured ankles.
Wilson who was closing in on the final stages of a very successful Australian racing season, currently sitting 2nd in the Australian Off Road Championships standings in the Women's class, looks likely to miss the finale being held in South Australia series in just under three weeks time.
"I have unfortunately fractured both of my ankles." said Wilson in a statement issued this morning.
Along with her success in Australia so far this season, Wilson has also embarked on a full season in the World Enduro Championships, currenlty sitting a very respectable 5th place in the championship standings.
Wilson is slated to race the final round in France which is scheduled for the 20th and 21st of October.
Wilson will wait until she has seen a surgeon before making any decision on what races she will an will not miss during the final stages of this yaer.
"At present I have not seen an orthopaedic surgeon, and until I have done so I do not wish to make any guesses at how long I will off the bike, and what races I will be forced to miss." concluded Wilson
Wilson is the current Australian Women's off road racing champion, winning the title in 2011 and will be hoping to fin
