Monster Energy Kawasaki‰Ûªs Jay Marmont won Australia‰Ûªs richest motocross event, the King of the Cross, in Western Australia over the weekend.

Jay Marmont was in fine form in Southern Cross, winning 4 out of 5 motos on his way to being crowned the champion.

The victory marked Jay Marmont‰Ûªs 4th win at the event.

‰ÛÏIt‰Ûªs good to be back on top of the box again." said Marmont. "There was definitely some good competition out there but I felt good all day.

"My starts were really good. My KX450F got me the hole-shot in 4 out of 5 races." said the reigning four time Australian MX Champion.

After spending the majority of the year riding injured, Marmont feels as though he is getting back to his usual flying speed and is ready to mix it up with the front runners at the final rounds of the 2012 Monster Energy MX Nationals with his win in Western Australia giving him the confidence that he is back on track.

"I got a bit of confidence today after a rough season so far and I feel like my speed is there again so I‰Ûªm really looking forward to the next few rounds of the motocross Nationals and the upcoming Supercross series‰Û

It was a double celebration for the Marmont family as Ryan Marmont was crowned Prince of the cross winning the 250F class. The race marked Ryan's return to the track after being injured earlier this year at the Wonthaggi motocross track.

Western Australian sand specialist, Dean Porter continued his run of good form to finish 3rd overall and continues to build his reputation as a rider that can run up front on any surface, posting top results in his last two races which have been on a harder pack type surface.

Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing's Brad Anderson finished the day in fourth place, while local rider Louis Calvin who has also missed the majority of the year with injury rounded out the top five.
