Jason Anderson and Max Anstie will return to the 2026 World Supercross Championship looking to defend their respective SX1 and SX2 titles, headlining the latest wave of rider confirmations ahead of the championship opener in Calgary.
With the 2026 season set to begin in Calgary on August 8th before heading to Birmingham for Round 2 on October 10th, the latest announcements have added further depth to an already competitive international line-up.
Reigning SX2 World Supercross Champion Max Anstie will return to defend his title, joining Rick Ware Racing for the upcoming season after reaching a mutual agreement with Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing to depart the team and focus on his World Supercross ambitions.
Anstie enjoyed a successful two-year stint with Star Racing, including a 250SX West victory at Anaheim 1, but the British rider’s decision to commit to the full 2026 World Supercross Championship campaign brought about a change in direction for his racing plans.

The defending two-time SX2 champion will now continue his title defence with Rick Ware Racing, joining the team in place of the injured Coty Schock. After dominating the SX2 class in 2025, Anstie will be aiming to become a back-to-back World Supercross champion.
In the premier SX1 category, defending World Supercross Champion Jason Anderson will return with Pipes Motorsports Group as he prepares to defend his title in 2026.
Anderson’s return to World Supercross follows a challenging period away from competition after stepping back from the 2026 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship to focus on his health and personal matters. The former Supercross champion had signed with the PMG Suzuki team for the 2026 season but missed the majority of the AMA Supercross campaign after initially dealing with ongoing medical concerns, including thyroid-related issues.
His absence was later extended as Anderson took further time away from racing to focus on matters away from the track. After using the break to reset and return his focus to competition, Anderson has resumed training and is now preparing to return to the global stage with the goal of successfully defending his World Supercross SX1 championship.
Anderson brings extensive experience and championship-winning pedigree to PMG’s 2026 effort, with fellow American Colt Nichols joining him in the SX1 category. Crockett Myers and Kyle Peters will complete PMG’s line-up in SX2, with Peters stepping in to replace Justin Bogle.

Adding further strength to the SX1 field, Kevin Moranz has been confirmed to race for 595 Racing. The experienced American rider joins the Brazilian team as it makes its debut in the World Supercross Championship, with Moranz and Greg Aranda set to lead the team’s 450cc challenge.
The SX2 class continues to grow in strength with several international riders confirmed for the 2026 season.
French rider Calvin Fonvieille will join Team GSM in SX2, bringing a strong reputation as one of Europe’s emerging supercross specialists. Known for his consistency, speed and technical ability, Fonvieille adds another serious contender to a rapidly developing class.
Jake Cannon will also enter the SX2 field with Venum Bud Racing, adding another exciting international talent to the championship line-up. The Australian teenager heads into the season with the added confidence of having secured his future with the French squad, having signed a new agreement that will keep him with Bud Racing through the 2027 season.
Currently one of the leading contenders in the highly competitive EMX250 Championship, Cannon has continued to make significant progress since arriving in Europe in 2025. His continued development, combined with the backing of a long-term deal, provides the young Australian with the stability to continue building his career on both the motocross and supercross stages.

Robbie Wageman will return to World Supercross competition with MotoConcepts Racing, bringing valuable experience and a hard-charging approach that should suit the demands of the indoor championship.
German rider Brian Hsu will also line up in SX2 for Stark, adding further interest as the manufacturer enters its second season of World Supercross competition. Hsu’s speed and versatility will be important as Stark looks to build on the lessons learned during its debut campaign in 2025.
With the rider line-up continuing to take shape, attention now turns towards the opening round in Calgary on 8 August, where teams and riders will get their first opportunity to measure themselves against the international field.
The Canadian opener will provide the first indication of early championship contenders, while the series will then head to Alexander Stadium in Birmingham for Round 2 on 10 October.
The British round is already shaping up as one of the standout events on the 2026 calendar, combining a strong venue, passionate fan base and a championship field featuring defending champions, established stars and emerging international talent.
