James Stewart makes it two in a row

Monster Energy Kawasaki rider James Stewart has taken his second Ampd Mobile AMA Supercross Series win in a row at Chase Field - Phoenix, AZ, whilst World MX2 Champion Christophe Pourcel took his first win in the Supercross Lites class. "It, Feels good, I got a decent start tonight," Stewart said. "I just put my head down and rode smart. I know what my goals are and I felt really good," he added. After a very rare red flag when David Vuillemin went down in an awkward spot James Stewart and Ricky Carmichael once again went toe to toe for a 20 lap Supercross main. Carmichael held sway in the early running but Stewart found his way past in lap eight. From there it was a matter of who would make a mistake first. Stewart stayed strong out front and although he only had the lead by inches he remained solid. Traffic started to give Carmichael another life and barring a Stewart mistake was his only chance of reeling in the Factory Kawasaki rider, but the opportunity never eventuated. Stewart crossed the line with gap of 1.227 seconds. Yamaha's Chad Reed took third overall 31 seconds back after riding another mostly lonely race, Honda's Travis Preston did put some pressure on the Australian in the closing stages but Reed stayed strong to take his second third spot in two weeks. ‰ÛÏI gave it 100% tonight, but James beat me,‰Û
