Inaugural East Coast MX Series champions crowned

The final round of the East Coast MX Series presented by Transmoto Dirt Bike Magazine finished off in style at Oakdale with perfect sunny conditions.

Although some of the class champions had already been decided, other classes were going down to the wire.

277 competitors entered to contest top honours on the day and the series . The promo girls from Insure My Ride and Mydrade shared the responsibility of the 15 second board.

Along with the other stands including TeenCee Grafix, Lifestyle & Sports Physiotherapy and Sponsorpoint in trade alley, MXR&D continued to help the riders set up the suspension on their bikes, and Stuart from MX Photo got some action snaps of the racing. Insure My Ride and VP fuels also added to the displays for the final round.

On Saturday the juniors fired up with some bar to bar racing. Another stand out performance from Dirt Bike Factory/Motocomposites KTM rider Dylan Heaton (12-u16 85cc;13-u16 150cc 1st) won five out of six races and took the Championship in both his classes.

Other class winners on the day included MXR&D Blake Hollis (7-u9 50cc), Jesse Pearce-Smith (7-u10 65cc), MXR&D/Teencee rider Rhys Budd (10-u13 65cc; 9-u12 85cc), Jarrod Kelly (13-u16 250cc 4st). The bobcat driver from Lindsay Civil tidied up the track for Sunday‰Ûªs racing.

Series promoter Michel Constantinou made a guest appearance on board his KTM250SXF provided by MXR&D and JDR Motorsports. After a tight battle with the title contenders in the AB Lites class, the 35 year old ended up on the podium with 3-3-2 finishes.

With 3 different winners on the day Dwayne Stadthaus eventually took out the overall in the AB Lites class. Teencee Grafix Corey James won the AB Open class as well as the Championship in both AB Lites and AB Open.

Other class winners included Lenny Magyar (C-Grade Lites), Mitch Stokoe (C-Grade Open), Jake Donaher (u19 Lites), Sponsorpoint/Putoline/Shot Gear rider Adam Bland (30-39 Vets), Sutto‰Ûªs KTM Tayla Jones (Womans), and Michael Turner (40+ Vets).
