Honda's intrepid Super Cub Bear travelled further than any other stuffed bear on record when he recently circumnavigated Australia on a Honda VFR1200, however, his travels had only just begun.
After making it safely back to Melbourne last month and covering more than 17,000 kms with travel partner and mcnews.com.au Editor, Trevor Hedge, Super Cub was suddenly called into service for Honda in Japan.
"I am very honoured to now be stationed at Honda Head Office with my colleagues in Corporate Communications," he said.
"As if riding around some of the most remote parts of Australia wasn't enough of an adventure, now I am here in Tokyo sitting at my own work station and helping the team run Honda worldwide!"
During his Australian odyssey, Bear met Australia's own Josh Brookes and Johnny Rea of the HANNspree Ten Kate Honda Team at World Superbikes in Phillip Island, tasted wine in the Hunter Valley, took a boat trip over to Magnetic Island, Townsville, swam in the Wollomombi Falls, explored the Northern Territory, and crossed the famous Nullarbor Desert.
Super Cub is the mascot for the most popular powered vehicle of all time, and it was only three years after the Super Cub motorcycle made its debut in 1958 that Honda won its first ever World Racing Championship.
Available from Honda dealers nationally, Super Cub comes packaged, complete with a unique numbered certificate to certify it is one of only 2000 produced to celebrate Honda's 50th year of participation in Motorcycle Racing.
All of the photos from Super Cub's trip can be seen on the Honda Australia Facebook page.
