Honda FMX star Robbie Maddison is no stranger to the spotlight.
As one of the world‰Ûªs top five contenders in his chosen sport, ‰Û÷Maddo‰Ûª is quickly becoming this country‰Ûªs next big athletic export.
His story has recently been told in a number of high profile newspapers and magazines, and now for the second year running, the local hero from Kiama, NSW has been invited to compete in the 13thannual X Games to be held in Los Angeles this August.
Athletes receiving invitations to compete at X Games are chosen by a sport-specific selection committee.
Maddison ‰ÛÒ who is on the upside of recovering from a broken leg - will be in the company of such esteemed freestyle riders as Nate Adams, Adam Jones, Mike Mason, Dani Torres and Mat Rebeaud.
Last year the 25-year-old electrician by trade competed as an alternate rider in three events of the international event, a challenge he took on with his usual determination.
