For the first time in three years the Honda ‰Û÷Girls on the Gas‰Ûª Competition has included the Northern Territory in its national calendar. Darwin played host this week to Round 2 of the Competition in stifling conditions that even had the locals searching for shade.

Local girl Melissa Holmes proved unstoppable on her Honda CRF 250 R, winning both of the ‰Û÷On Bike‰Ûª categories by a comfortable margin, while also winning the public speaking sector. A prior injury to her right knee proved the only chink in her armour with a second playing in the Fitness Test (Shuttle Run Beep Test).
