Serco Yamaha Metal Mulisha Racer, Luke Styke, remains firmly placed at the top of the leader board of the MX2 class at the MX Nationals after a fourth place finish at round eight of the championship held at Appin Raceway, over the weekend.
Styke proved consistent throughout the day posting three good results and holding his advantage in the championship. His 5-4-2 results netted him 56 points, only dropping five points from his championship lead.
With two rounds (six races) remaining, Styke now has a 31 point lead but understands there is a lot of work to be done to secure the 2012 MX2 Championship.
‰ÛÏI found the track hard to pass on today and in the first two motos, I was back a little way and just couldn‰Ûªt go forward." stated Styke. "Moto three I was in the top three early in the race and was able to finish second; a much better start and my speed was better also without so much traffic."
‰ÛÏIt‰Ûªs a handy lead, but with so many good riders in the field I have to keep my training and preparation up and work towards getting in the top three every race." he explained
"So, it‰Ûªs straight back into work, continuing on my regular routine.‰Û
