GYTR rider Sam Martin will endeavour to ride through and knee injury sustained while racing in the lead up to the upcoming round of the Monster Energy MX Nationals at Appin this Sunday.
Racing at a round of the Gippsland series last weekend he heard his knee pop while racing. Martin has his knee checked by the Suzuki Racesafe crew on Tuesday with scans revealing that he had damaged his ACL and he will require surgery at some point.
Though not confirmed if he will actually race on Sunday as of yet, the rider who is currently placed 5th in the MXD standings will see how his knee feels during practice Sunday morning before making a decision on whether he lines up behind the gates or not.
"Sam will try and see how it goes this weekend." said team manager Scott Bishop, "He is currently gathering as much info as possible on the injury and will make a decision at the end of the MX Nationals regarding surgery."
Martin will be joined on the GYTR Yamaha team once again by Wade Hunter who will see out the season on the team after impressing with his results at both the national rounds this season as well as in his home state of Queensland.
