Glenn Macdonald Racing-KTM were in full flight on day one of the Honda Australian Junior Motocross Titles at Coolum, QLD securing solid lap times in practice and placing in heat races contested for the day.
Jeremy Tyndall (Waaia, VIC) practiced well despite having never ridden the circuit and backed it up with an action packed heat race win in the 9-u12 years 85cc class. Tyndall rode from 7th place to first, to be passed back and then pounced in the final stages of the race for the win.
Both Dylan Berwick (Burnie, TAS) and Joben Baldwin (Albury, NSW) recorded extremely good lap times during practice with 2nd and 4th fastest overall in the 12-14 years 85cc class. Berwick placed 2nd in his heat race to Sean Redhead and Baldwin placed a solid 4th place in his heat draw.
Berwick again practiced well on his KTM 125SX and posted a lap time which sits him well into the top ten overall. Berwick is yet to contest the first heat in the 13-u16 years 125cc class.
Annissa Berichon (Sunbury, VIC) did a great job and improved immensely in her second practice session, shaving off four seconds a lap despite the increasingly rough circuit.
Jarryd McNeil (Deniliquin, NSW) rode the wheels off his KTM‰Ûªs and practiced well to secure 4th fastest overall in the 13-u16 years 125cc class and 3rd overall in the 15 years 250F class.
Glenn Macdonald, Team Owner was pleased with the results for the team so far and indicated that ‰Û÷the event is still only in its very early stages, there is a long way to go. I could not be happier with the progress of the GMR-KTM riders since the start of the year and to see our team out in front on their KTM machines at the Nationals nice and early is great to see.‰Ûª
Berwick, Berichon and McNeil are all yet to commence heat races in the 125 and 250F classes tomorrow, 27 September 2007.
