Entries now open for XSport Games’ NSW FMX Cup

Posted:

Motorcycling NSW has announced that entries are now open for the NSW FMX Cup, as part of the 2010 XSport Games.

The NSW FMX Cup is the rebirth of sanctioned Freestyle Motocross events in Australia and will take huge leaps forward in recapturing the atmosphere and rider interest of years past.

The event will cater for all riders, covering three classes of competition; Development Class (16-18 years), Open Amateur and Pro, with riders from right across Australia set to descend on Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park, on November 13 & 14 for the historic event.

The battle is sure to be hot, as riders will fight for their share of a $25,000 prize pool - the biggest ever offered at an Australian FMX event - with the Pro FMX winner snagging $8,000, and cash prizes paid down to 10th place.

Development and Open Amateur winners also walking away $1000 richer.

The NSW FMX Cup will also offer an open-entry Best Trick and Best Whip competition.

Another important part of the event is the introduction of some new initiatives to encourage more riders to take part in FMX in Australia.

Motorcycling NSW and Motorcycling Australia have teamed up to offer all riders the opportunity to obtain a special National One-Event licence for the weekend. Negating the need for riders to hold or obtain a full MA licence for just one event - yet still be covered by Motorcycling Australia's comprehensive insurance during the event - a first for any Australian FMX competition.

As with past events, riders will still require an FMX Endorsement. However, FMX Endorsements will be offered to all competitors free-of-charge by MNSW and MA FMX Assessor, Paul Jamieson, on Friday the 12th during practice for all classes.

The course for the FMX Cup will consist of three (3) Ramp-to-Dirt jumps ‰ÛÒ at a distance of; 65ft for Development Class, 75ft for Open and Pro Classes. As well as a 120ft Ramp-to-Dirt jump (Pro Class Only). All of which utilize the one 3-way down-ramp. Ramps are being supplied by ARD, whilst the down-ramp and berms will be constructed by Blackwell Bros. - the builder of the Red Bull Xray course.

Entry for the 2010 NSW FMX Cup is only $40 for Development & Open Amateur Classes and just $70 for the Pro Class. Whilst, for those who do not hold a current MA Senior National Licence, the special One-Event Licence will cost just $77.

Entry forms are available from www.motorcycling.com.au or www.xsportgames.com.au
