Ducati is set to enter a bold new phase in its FIM Motocross World Championship journey, joining forces with Louis Vosters and his Dutch-based team for the 2026 MXGP season.
The partnership marks a major step forward for Ducati’s off-road ambitions, bringing together the Italian manufacturer’s cutting-edge Desmo450 MX with one of Europe’s most respected privateer outfits.
Vosters, a long-time figure in the MXGP paddock, began his involvement in the sport as a sponsor before establishing his own team in 2015. Based in Bergeijk, Netherlands—just a short drive from the iconic Lommel circuit—the operation has earned a reputation for professionalism and competitiveness. Under the new collaboration, the team will field three factory Ducati Desmo450 MX machines in 2026, to be ridden by Jeremy Seewer, Andrea Bonacorsi, and Calvin Vlaanderen.
Swiss rider Seewer, 31, remains with Ducati after a strong 2025 campaign that saw him twice finish on the podium. Bonacorsi, one of Italy’s brightest young stars, joins after an impressive rookie MXGP season that included eighth overall in the standings and his first premier-class podium with Vosters’ team. The 2020 EMX125 and 2023 EMX250 European Champion also represented Italy at the 2023 Motocross of Nations, reaching the podium in his 450 debut.
Joining them is South African-born Dutchman Vlaanderen, who brings a wealth of experience and proven pace. The 29-year-old boasts a Grand Prix victory in MX2 from 2018, another in MXGP from 2022, a 500-class Dutch national title, and a Motocross of Nations win with Team Netherlands in 2019.
Ducati Corse Off-Road General Manager Paolo Ciabatti said the new partnership represents an important step in Ducati’s motocross project. “We are delighted to announce this important agreement with Louis Vosters’ team, undoubtedly one of the most professional in the MXGP Championship paddock,” Ciabatti explained. “We have shared a long-term project with Louis, and we are confident that, thanks to the close collaboration between our two teams, we will soon be able to achieve the ambitious goals we have set ourselves. We are also pleased to welcome Andrea and Calvin to Ducati, who, together with Jeremy, will do their utmost to bring the Ducati name to the top in the world of motocross.”
For Vosters, the collaboration is the fulfilment of a long-held ambition. “It’s truly a dream come true to start this new chapter with such an iconic brand as Ducati, leading the new Factory Team in the MXGP class,” he said. “Their passion, technology, and unmistakable racing DNA perfectly align with my own vision of motocross at the highest level. This is not just a short-term project — we’ve entered a long-term collaboration built on trust, determination, and a shared desire to win. We share the same racing spirit, and together with Ducati’s technical team and our people in the paddock, I’m confident we can make great progress and fight at the front of the MXGP World Championship in the seasons ahead.”
With Ducati expanding its presence in MXGP and the Vosters team’s proven track record, the 2026 season promises to be a pivotal one for the Italian manufacturer as it looks to establish itself as a serious contender in world motocross.
