Scottish racer Dean Wilson will fill in at Honda for the last five rounds of the 2025 AMA Supercross season, stepping in as Hunter and Jett Lawrence continue their recovery from injuries.
His debut with the team begins in Philadelphia on April 12.
Wilson, a seasoned competitor in elite-level U.S. racing, brings a wealth of experience to the squad. The 2011 AMA Pro Motocross 250 Champion has spent recent years racing internationally, securing the 2023 Australian Supercross SX1 title and, more recently, winning the 2024 UK Arenacross Tour. Initially set to compete in select AMA Supercross rounds for the Quad Lock Honda team, he will now don Honda HRC Progressive colors for the remainder of the season.
“I’m just really excited and grateful for this opportunity—it certainly wasn’t on my 2025 bingo card!” Wilson enthused. “Obviously, it came about due to unfortunate circumstances with the Lawrence brothers being injured, but I’m honored to step in. I was over in the UK when I shot Lars [Lindstrom] a text saying I’d be interested, and a little while later, I got the call. I’ve always wanted to ride this bike and be a part of this team, so I kind of feel like a little kid again—just over the moon! I also really appreciate Yarrive [Konsky] and Martin [Davalos] for being so understanding and letting this happen.”

Wilson has already begun testing with the team, giving himself three weeks to adjust before his debut in Philadelphia. Meanwhile, Honda HRC Progressive continues to be represented in the 250SX class by Jo Shimoda and Chance Hymas in the West and East regions, respectively.
Brandon Wilson, Manager of Racing and Advertising at American Honda, welcomed the addition of Wilson to the squad. “Obviously, we’ve missed having the Lawrences racing out of our truck for much of this season, but we’re happy to see them progressing well and hope to have them back in action soon,” he said. “In the meantime, it will be great to have Dean showcasing the CRF450RWE. I’d also like to thank Yarrive and Martin at Quad Lock Honda for their flexibility in making this happen.”
Hunter Lawrence is expected to return for the AMA Pro Motocross season opener at Pala, California, on May 24, while Jett Lawrence remains focused on his recovery, aiming to return as soon as possible.
