Following surgery to his collarbone two weeks ago, Dean Ferris, has attempted to race the Dutch MX GP in Valkenwaard.
The Dixon Yamaha Monster Energy racer had to retire from the MX2 qualifying on Sunday when freezing conditions and a demanding sand track made it even more difficult for the Australian hopeful.
‰ÛÏIt‰Ûªs only been 13 days since my operation and we knew that it would be a long shot making it for this GP but after riding the bike on Saturday I felt comfortable to attempt the event." Ferris explained.
"The pain was actually quite bearable but I had no strength to handle the bike how I need to in the sand and that made it difficult to go fast.
"I‰Ûªm confident that I‰Ûªll be back for the Italian GP in two weeks where I can hopefully grab back a hand full of points.‰Û
