The dates have been confirmed for the 2011 edition of the AMCN International Island Classic, with the highly-prestigious event set down for January 21-23 of next year.
Following on from the success of the 2010 event a strong international contingent is expected to make the journey to Phillip Island for the popular International Challenge.
On the back of the closest finish in the event‰Ûªs history, strong representation from Trans-Tasman neighbour New Zealand and the United Kingdom as they look to take the coveted title off the host nation.
With competition between the rival nations expected to be fierce the call has gone out to those interested in becoming members of the Australian team as the Aussies attempt to maintain their stranglehold on the title.
Approaching the 18th edition of the event, the field of pre-war, classic, post-classic and forgotten era motorcycles continues to grow with competitors enjoying the opportunity to ride their much-loved machines on the famous Phillip Island circuit.
Such has been the interest in the International Island Classic it has become the third-largest motorcycling event on Australian road racing calendar.
