The Swedish Grand Prix has once again come under fire with poor track conditions and controversial refereeing decisions as young Russian sensation Emil Sayfutdinov took victory ahead of Jason Crump and Brazilian-born Swedish Wild Card entry Antonio Lindback in the re-run final.
The first running of the final saw Crump spectacularly lay his bike down trying to avoid Sayfutdinov who came down after coming together with Nicki Pedersen while fighting for the lead. The referee decided Pedersen was the cause of the stoppage and he was excluded.
Crump did sustain an injury to his left leg and little finger on his left hand in the incident but managed to hobble back to the pits to get his spare bike for the re-run.
The re-started final then saw Crump leap out of the start first and into the lead and holding that position for two and a half laps before the young 19 year-old Russian blasted past Crump and into the lead and taking his second Grand Prix victory this year.
