Crump dedicates his second placing to injured Leigh Adams

Posted:

Jason Crump produced his best form to date this year after finishing second in the all-important final at Copenhagen Denmark last Saturday night.

Crump top scored in the heats even after being "taken out" by Brit Chris Harris in heat 9 with the Australian crashing heavily into the fence and aggravating the shoulder injury he sustained in Sweden just four weeks ago.

But that did not stop the 3-time World Champion as he pulled off the ride of the night in the final coming from last to second on the last lap and moving up to fourth place in the World Championship chase.

"I really wanted to win here tonight for my mate Leigh Adams but could only manage second so I dedicate this to Leigh and his family at this terrible time." said Crump. "This tragic news has really affected me and my family and our thoughts are with Leigh, Kylie their children and their families who have a tough battle ahead of them."

"Tonight was a good result for me. I came away with 18 points and moved further up the ladder to fourth overall and there is still seven more GP's to go so it is not over yet," Crump concluded.

Formula 1 racer Mark Webber also mentioned Adams last night at the Canadian Grand Prix. Webber made special mention in an interview and wished the former speedway star well and said he and Crump where there for him.,

The next round will be held at the magnificent indoor Millennium Stadium in Cardiff in two weeks time where Crump has won the British Grand Prix five times.
