Jason Crump‰Ûªs masterful victory in round seven of the Speedway World Championship at Prague in the Czech Republic on September 6
was an historic one from an Australian perspective.
That‰Ûªs because Crump‰Ûªs triumph ‰ÛÒ his second in 2003 and eighth overall ‰ÛÒ marked the fourth
successive grand prix victory for an Australian rider in 2003, surpassing Denmark‰Ûªs effort of
three in 1995. Crump first kicked off the record-breaking ‰Û÷proceedings‰Ûª in round four, followed
up by victories to countrymen Leigh Adams and Ryan Sullivan. And it still remains a work-in-progress.
Crump (Jawa) was unrelenting at the 17,500-capacity Marketa Stadium in Prague for round seven, as
he led from go-to-whoa in the four-lap final from reigning world champion Tony Rickardsson,
Dane Nicki Pedersen and the unfancied Norwegian Rune Holta. It was his second Prague triumph
in as many years, where he has also finished third on two occasions (1999 and 2001).
‰ÛÏBring the rest of the championship on!‰Û
