The Berry Sweet Lucas Oil Honda team was again one of the best placed Honda teams at round three of Monster Energy Super X at Campbelltown with Craig Anderson bagging a seventh overall, right behind the factory machine of Kawasaki's Billy Mackenzie.
"The track was good and thankfully the weather delivered big-time," Ando said.
"It was awesome to see a ton of spectators there and they got plenty of entertainment because there was some close racing all night."
On his seventh place finish Ando added, "I'm happy with that but I was disappointed with my starts. It was the kind of first turn that punished anyone not in a good position. I know I could've run further up because my pace was good but I need to work on those starts during the week.
"The bike felt really good and we'll hit the practice track again all week to work on some small tweaks for me and the machine to be ready for Maitland which is of course a home race for me. There's no better motivation than racing in front of your home crowd so we'll be making sure we're ready to put on a good show.
UK import Gordon Crockard had a tough time coming to grips with the track after he was unable to get any sort of meaningful time on the course during practice. This meant he was learning the technical track under race conditions which is a tricky way to race any supercross. "He'll improve no doubt," stated Anderson.
Campbelltown was tough for Gordon given he got on it to race without any sort of real preparation. He's a far better rider than he's been able to show so far but Maitland will be a different story for sure."
