Current Monster Energy MX Nationals points leader Josh Coppins has scored and impressive 3rd place overall at the fourth round of the Maxiss ACU British Motocross Championship, at Milton Park, Northamptonshire.
At the end of round five of our domestic series Coppins announced he would be spending the Australian mid season break riding either some rounds of the British championships, or selected rounds of the World motocross championships, still at that stage unsure of which he would be racing.
Coppins finished the round with one fifth place finish followed by two fourth place finishes to score a total of 52 points, placing him on the final step of the podium for the day. Coppins finished behind round winner Mattiss Karro, who had a perfect outing winning all three races on the day with Shaun Simpson finishing in second place.
The round wins also seen Karro leave the round with the current championship lead, not bad for a rider that did not like the layout of the track over the weekend.
‰ÛÏthis was a good track for me, I didn‰Ûªt really like the layout but I like the deep ruts and I felt so good." said Karro. "I can‰Ûªt believe I am leading the Championship."
Karro will now join the rest of the top riders from Europe when he lines up at the French Motocross GP Next weekend.
This was good preparation for next weekend‰Ûªs GP in France and I‰Ûªm looking forward to that now.‰Û
