With round five of the MX Nationals kicking off in Coolum this weekend, a fundraiser for injured riders Joel Evans and Ryan Boyd will be held in conjunction with racing, to assist the boys and their families as they start on their roads to recovery.
The motorcycling industry is known for pulling together during tough times, and this weekend our big motocross family will once again band together to raise money for riders in need.
On Saturday May 30, a BBQ lunch will be held at the Coolum Pines MX Track from 2pm ‰ÛÒ with proceeds going towards assisting Joel Evans and Ryan Boyd who were injured while riding. All are encouraged to come out to the track for some lunch, to show your support for these two young guys who are a part of our big motocross family.
Then on Sunday May 30, a raffle and auction will be held during the lunch break at the MX Nationals, with a number of exciting items to be won or purchased.
Raffle tickets will be available to purchase at the track for $3 each, or five tickets for $10, with a number of exciting prizes to be announced shortly.
Jerseys, helmets and other items from riders such as Kirk Gibbs, Luke Styke, Ben Townley and more, will also be auctioned off, with the aim of raising funds for our injured riders.
The guys from Racing 4 Disabled, which is a foundation set up by racers who offer support to fallen riders, will also be in the‰Û÷trade area‰Ûª of the pits, and will have the jerseys being auctioned off on display.
The R4D team will also be available to provide information on how people can further assist Ryan and Joel as well as their families.
