With round two of the SGP series just around the corner, Rampant's Chris Holder has proven he has the speed and machinery to add to his Cardiff win in 2010.
It would be fair to say, for Chris, the start to the year has been solid and where he would like to be right now. After a tough schedule towards the end of last year, Chris has well earned experience on his side this time around and will handle the pressure and travelling alot better this year.
"Last year was an amazing year. One minute I'm making heats, the semis, then finals, then Cardiff happened!"
Chris continues, "It was an amazing buzz, but this is 2011 now, it's a new year and a new season to deal with." "I'm feeling great right now, the bikes are going well and I feel good out there".
Racing in the UK, Poland and now with Sweden underway, Holder has warmed up nicely for the season that lies ahead of him. Nutrition, rest and managing a tight schedule is something Chris will be keen to keep a handle on this year, as the racing and meetings across three countries is still just as ruthless.
The Chris Holder Racing (CHR) juggernaut has already a massed a swag of venues, points and distance this year. Looking smooth and fast he recently paired with team mate Darcy Ward to win the Elite League pairs title.
Silencer issues may have been on the agenda for some, but for CH its a case of get on with it and make it work, rather than sit by and hope it goes away.
There's alot to be happy about so far CH. Solid results, reliable machinery and great mechanics. And just recently a new house on the way. Calling somewhere home away from home is clearly an important part of having stability in an otherwise crazy race schedule. Plenty of laughs on the road helps too!
"Yeah I always get edgy before the main event, but I have some great mates around me so I make sure that there is time to relax in between meetings. It's important i stay relaxed. I'm at my best that way". says Chris.
Bouncing back quickly from some injuries sustained in winning the Australian speedway title earlier this year, Chris is feeling strong and ready to roll. GP's are tough, the first round showed that. I cant remember the last time 9 points held you out from a final spot. Chris was disspointed no doubt, but the fact remains bigger names expected to shine didnt, so for CH it was a strong start and showed he is already matching what the top seven riders ahead of him are doing right now.
"I can't wait to get to Gothenburg for practice and then race day. I'm pumped". says Chris.
With a host of sponsors from last year and some new ones on board for 2011, Chris is optimistic for the season and thankful for the support.
"A big thanks to all my partners helping me out this year. I'm a long way from home, so a big shout out to my aussie sponsors too. Castrol Australia, Unifilter and Rampant clothing".
Keep your eyes peeled this weekend for round two in Sweden. Chris is primed and ready to take on the world's best in the toughest two-wheeled sport on earth.
