CDR/Nokia/Yamaha's Troy Carroll has been confirmed as a starter for round 4 of the Supercross Masters at Sydney‰Ûªs Acer Arena on September 16.
The Queensland based defending champion has missed most of the action this year after injuring his ankle in practice at round 2 in Western Australia.
Whilst the 26-year-old has no chance of reigning his title he is sure to want to end his time with the CDR/Nokia/Yamaha team on a high note - Carroll will not be with the team come the 2006 season.
The three time supercross champion will be aboard a 2-stroke, Carroll will join team-mates, Cheyne Boyd and Matt Moss aboard the YZ450F machine for his final two races.
A double for Yamaha in the current Supercross Masters is not out for Yamaha‰Û_ Boyd is sitting just two points behind series leader Daniel Reardon (Silkolene Kawasaki) while Serco Yamaha's Cameron Taylor heads up the Lites title-chase.
And in a flurry of overseas activity surrounding the Sydney September 16 date, Jake Moss will fly to California for the Glen Helen round of the AMA motocross series prior to Sydney.
Then Cheyne Boyd jets off to England with Dan Reardon to join Brett Metcalfe as the Australian squad at the Motocross des Nations.
Acer Arena, formerly Sydney SuperDome, will host the Sydney round for the eighth year and Supercross masters is the longest-running production in the celebrated Olympic venue.
This year‰Ûªs indoor two-wheel spectacle will feature the M2R freestyle expression session, a brace of monster trucks and an all-in demolition derby.
The larger-than foyer trade expo involves all bike manufacturers and is highlighted by a post-meeting autograph sessions with all the factory riders.
