Ricky Carmichael clinched his fourth straight AMA Chevy Trucks U.S. Motocross Championship by winning his ninth 250 race of the season Sunday at Steel City Raceway. The 23-year-old from Havana, Fla., becomes the first rider to win four AMA 250 Motocross titles.
Carmichael won the Steel City race after a tight battle with fellow Honda rider Kevin Windham. Carmichael crashed in the second moto, but picked up his bike and chased down and passed Windham with just four laps to go to secure the victory.
Windham finished second to pin down the runner-up spot in the series with one round remaining next Sunday in Troy, Ohio. ‰ÛÏObviously it was a little disappointing the way I finished,‰Û
