Cam Sinclair Wins Inaugural Australian Speed and Style Championship

Posted:

Three time X Games medalist - Cam Sinclair, notched another championship next to his name over the weekend, this time coming at the inaugural Australian Speed and Style event held in Tasmania on Saturday November 22nd.

Speed & Style fuses high-octane supercross style racing with insane freestyle motocross tricks. Riders fight for the best lap time and trick execution in a head-to-head elimination battle.

Sinclair raced to victory in what is arguably the most prestigious freestyle motocross event to be held on Australian turf this year. The 30 year old from Pearcedale, Victoria, blitzed the field and claimed the 2014 Australian Crown.

Sinclair claims his intense preparation recently in the Australian Supercross championship, where he raced to two second placing‰Ûªs at rounds 3 and 5 respectively, has greatly contributed to his Speed and Style win.

"I definitely feel like that helped, just getting back into race mode and lining up behind a gate again, which I haven‰Ûªt done in a long time. I put in a lot of laps out at Kade Mosig‰Ûªs Supercross track as well as hitting ramps at my place almost everyday and it has definitely made a difference", states Sinclair on his preparation.

"It‰Ûªs amazing, Cams been a great mentor to me for years now, so for us both to come away with first and second in Australia, is an unbelievable feeling", proclaimed Archer.

That wasn't the only event that would see Sinclair and Archer compete together, as the two went head to head for the Australian Freestyle Championship on the same night. The Kawasaki mounted Sinclair would land himself on the podium again with a commendable third placed result, as Archer narrowly missed the podium by 1.5 points, claiming 6th overall, in Australia respectively.

Appearances in both the Australian Supercross and Australian Speed and Style Championship's this year, has sparked renewed interest for Cam to take on the largest action sports event in the world; the X games, where Cam will look for another prestigious gold medal in 2015.

"Ultimatly thats the reason why I did these races and wanted to do well in Tasmania. The end goal is to score an invite to the X games Speed and Style event, and with winning the domestic race last weekend as well as good performances in Supercross, I definitely believe my name is on the world map", stated Sinclair.

Cams next event will see him teamed up with the Nitro Circus LIVE crew, as they host a show in Dubai on December 5th.
