The inaugural Australian Motorcycle Week will be held in Tasmania from November 14-23 ‰ÛÒ but unless people book their
Bass Strait passage now, there is a fair chance they will miss out on attending the 10-day extravaganza.
The organiser of AMW has block-booked considerable capacity on various sailings across the Tasman, but if the allocation
is not taken up within the next week, the balance will be released back to the general public ‰ÛÒ and presumably snapped
up very quickly.
For passage bookings, contact Tas Vacations, tel 1800 030 160, or call into the Tasmanian Travel Centres in either
Sydney or Melbourne.
AMW will kick off on Friday, November 14 with an official opening in Launceston, before a smorgasbord of events begin:
organised on and off-road motorcycle tours; two Australian motorcycle championships, the Tasmanian Motorcycle Expo
and Custom Bike Show; a ride day; motorcycle movies; stunt and trials displays ‰ÛÒ not to mention a variety of social
engagements. And, of course, people are always free to go their own way and traverse some of the best motorcycle roads
in the country.
The ride day at AMW will be held on Saturday, November 15 at Symmons Plains Raceway, with former 500cc GP winner Kevin
Magee recently confirmed as a co-tutor alongside Superbike stalwart Malcolm ‰ÛÏWally‰Û
