BMW GS Safari Heads Out on Another Great Adventure.

Posted:

On November 8, 200 adventure-loving BMW GS riders descend on the historic Jenolan Caves House west of Sydney to kick off the 2015 BMW GS Safari.

From the heritage-listed village in the heart of the Greater Blue Mountains, the Safari will traverse its way through some of Australia's most stunning countryside between 8 and 13 November.

The off-roads less travelled will be on the daily riding menu. Through stunning forests, creek crossing, causeways, rolling farmland, historic locations and villages, the riders will be guided along the journey by the BMW Safari crew.

This is a serious operation with a total of 15 support staff to ensure the event runs to plan. There will be two lead riders, a tyre support truck, videographer, photographer, event manager, two medics, five event support staff and the BMW Roadside Assistance support vehicle provided by Allianz.

The final days of the GS Safari will detour across the roof of Australia. The renowned gravel roads of the High Country will bring the group into the event's conclusion at Bairnsdale in Victoria, gateway to the Gippsland Lakes.

BMW Motorrad Australia Marketing Manager Miles Davis is excited. "The BMW GS Safari is a fantastic event and gives the opportunity for all GS riders to enjoy magnificent riding country in the company of others.

"This Safari route covers a wide variety of terrain, from twisty tar to open dirt roads as well as a few challenging tracks that will put some of the riders to the test.

"At the end of each day, riders meet to receive a route sheet and briefing on the day ahead as well as having a beer and discussing the day's highlights. There is nothing better," said Davis.
