Billy Mackenzie has became the second former British Motocross champion to move on from his Australian based team at the conclusion of an Australian Championship in 2012.

Unlike Brad Anderson who signed a deal to race with Kawasaki back in the British championship and at selected rounds of the World Championship after his stint in Australian with Carlton Dry Honda Racing, Thor at the end of the Mx Nationals series, Mackenzie is likely to stay in Australian and once again be a championship contender when the 2013 Monster Energy MX Nationals gets under-way next year.

Though no official word has come through on which team he will be riding for in 2013, there is heavy speculation that he will partner Lawson Bopping over at CDR Yamaha as the team heads in to its 21st season on the Australian racing scene.

"It‰Ûªs sad to leave, it‰Ûªs the end of an era, 3 years but I‰Ûªve had a really good time and I want to thank everybody for helping me." Mackenzie stated after his final race with the team at Newcastle on Saturday night.

"It‰Ûªs been a big move coming from another country. On to newer pastures next year and I‰Ûªm looking forward to battling these guys in motocross next year.‰Û

Though being in the running for the Australian National championship in both 2010 and 2011, Mackenzie was not quite able to secure Monster Energy Kawasaki an elusive championship in their forming years.

However he was one of the first people to congratulate Jay Marmont on becoming the teams first national champion at the final round of the Australian Supercross Championship and was pleased to see the team achieved the success they had been chasing.

"I‰Ûªm real happy for Jay and Kawasaki that they‰Ûªve won the championship. I was the first one to congratulate Jay when he came over and I‰Ûªm real happy for him." Mackenzie concluded.
