Youthstream and the organizer MX-Dema, represented by Edmond Detry and Andre Mathieu, have announced the return to the region of Walloon in Belgium for the FIM Motocross World Championship calendar.
Belgium which is also the host nation of the 2012 MXoN at the Lommel venue in Septermber, will now also hold a round of the FIM MX World championship on the weekend of 17th June at the Plaine Militaire de Sans Soucis in Bastogne and will mark the 8th and midway point of the season.
The last time that the Walloon region celebrated a Grand Prix it was back in 2005 in Nismes, where Mickael Pichon was on the first step of the MX1 class and Antonio Cairoli obtained overall victory in MX2. The new venue for 2012 will also be the home round for MX1 championship contender Clement Desalle, who grew up not far from French speaking region of Walloon.
The announcement of round 8 in Belgium brings the 2012 calender to near completion with only round 15 on the weekend of the 9th of September to still be confirmed.
