On Sunday 18 March 2007, Australia's hottest young talent will descend on Newry Race Track near Maffra in Victoria to compete in Round 1 of the elite Yamaha MX National Development Series.
The best young riders from all over Australia will compete in the opening round, with a special draw card being the World Women's Motocross Champion, South African born, New Zealand resident, Katherine Prumm. Prumm's presence at Newry is a nod to the high profile of the series, as well as evidence of the international standard of this event.
The series will feature Australian Women's Championship class riders as well as the Craig Dack Rookies 15 years Lite Class. This series has been designed to develop talent emerging from the younger ranks, and from the ranks of Australia's female riders.
Round 2 of the series will be held on 3 June 2007 in Lakes, NSW. Round 3 will take place in Horsham, VIC, on 15 July 2007.
