Williams Event Management have released provisional dates for the 2005 Maxxis Tyres Australian Supermoto Championship. The
championship will be contested over 8 rounds over 4, Saturday/Sunday double header weekends in QLD, Vic and NSW.
The proposed dates are provisional and awaiting Motorcycling Australia approval - the dates are:
Round 1 & 2 September 10th/11th Stanthorpe QLD
Round 3 & 4 October 22nd/23rd Cobden VIC
Round 5 & 6 November 26th/27th Newcastle NSW
Round 7 & 8 December 3rd/4th Tamworth NSW
Changes for 2005 will see all classes go though timed qualifying with each class having three championship point scoring races per round. There will also be three non qualifying races for the S2 class.
The S3 class (250cc Four-stroke) will receive prize money whilst all classes will now run under the 24 point scoring system. The championship will once again run a controlled tyre for championship classes as was the case in 2004.
