Round one of the nationally televised 2011 YMF Loan Yamaha Australian FX-Superbike Championship kicks off this weekend at Eastern Creek International Raceway with an impressive entry list already topping over 147 riders spread throughout the five exciting classes.
Over the two days of racing there is thirty actioned packed races for motorsport spectators to enjoy, fifteen races per day with the first race scheduled to start at around 10.20am each day.
The premier FX-Superbike class with 31 entries on its own has an exceptional roll up of quality racers in 2011 including names like
Kev Curtain,
Rick Olson, the
Cullen Brothers,
Craig McMartin,
Damien Murphy,
Zac Davies,
Cru Halliday,
Aaron Morris,
Dustin Goldsmith,
Jeremy Crowe,
Chas Hern,
Brayden Carr and
Daniel Stauffer to name just a few.
Add in another two brothers racing in the premier class with Suzuki mounted
Matthew Medcalf entering FX-Superbike class for the first time with his Team Yamaha mounted brother Pat and the rider list just keeps on impressing. Needless to say once you add in the other top quality riders the FX-Superbike class is bound to produce some exciting and close hard fought racing from first right through to last place.
FX-Superbike is not the only class that will showcase its riders talents this weekend with the FX600 (33 entries) class bound to thrill with Curtain about to be challenged by a number of young guns including mad
Mike Jones,
Josh Hook,
Scott Glenn,
Sean Condon,
Dylan Mavin and J
ackson Leigh-Smith again to name a few of the quality field.
Add in the newly named Pro-Thunder / NakedBike (32 entries) class and the ever popular Formula Oz (34 entries) along with the young guns in the combined FX125GP and FX400 (15 entries) class and the action will be worth the trip to Eastern Creek Raceway either Saturday or Sunday or for those die hards fans who love watching quality racing on both days.
There will be a short lunch break and pit walk for spectators to check out the FX-Superbikes and the Umbrella Girl Competition then back to the racing.
