All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) owners wanting somewhere to use their machines this weekend and every day of the week had their
prayers answered today when Mr Daryl Petch, Executive Officer of the Federation of Off Highway Vehicles Australia (FOHVA),
announced an agreement with land owners at Beaudesert in South East Queensland to access some 10,000 hectares for recreational
ATV use.
Mr Petch said, "This landmark agreement was reached with local property owners represented by Mr Ewan Bruce. The property
owners have recognised the quality of FOHVA‰Ûªs management and operating guidelines, and code of conduct for members, for
ATV operation and believe that this arrangement will allow the local land holders and community to benefit from the huge
popularity of ATV ownership, while ensuring activities undertaken on their properties are environmentally sensitive and
sustainable."
Mr Bruce has established access arrangements to his and surrounding private properties for FOHVA ATV members. This has been
achieved subject to the conditions that:
- Mr Bruce and his team of guides lead FOHVA ATV members through the properties on the best ATV trails and tracks;
- FOHVA members have due regard for stock, gates, sensitive areas; and
- FOHVA members pay a small access fee of just $45 per day and bring their own fuel.
In return, FOHVA ATV members can expect a diversity of landscapes, including some spectacular views of the border ranges,
hundreds of kilometres of trails, historic buildings and support backup when needed.
Mr Bruce will also provide FOHVA members with the option to buy cold drinks, snacks or a tasty lunch at his own special lunch
stop. Alternatively, FOHVA members can bring their own refreshments. The trails can be ridden by either "Utility" or "Sport"
ATVs, with members having the option of booking for specific trail experiences. Beaudesert is within close proximity of Brisbane,
the Gold Coast, Toowoomba and Northern NSW, including areas such as Tweed Heads and Casino.
Access to this area is by appointment only for FOHVA members on conditionally registered ATVs and members can prepay to be
guaranteed a placing, or can pay on the day if space is still available. Group bookings are also welcome. Your support for
those that support your club is essential. The contact for more information on this guided ride is Mr Ewan Bruce on
0407 639 404. More information on FOHVA is found at
