Yamaha Australian have signed on as the naming rights backer for the 2007 Australian Quad Motocross Championships which will take place at the Newry motocross track in Gippsland. Victoria over the weekend of the 17th and 18th November. The Maffra Sale Motocross Club will be host the prestigious event and have welcomed Yamaha Australia to the sport of Quad Motocross and are looking forward to a fruitful and successful relationship. Displays and demonstrations will be popular with the Yamaha Team strutting their machines around for all to see. With 13 classes to cover over the weekend, racing will be spectacular. Pro's, Women's, Vets, Production and Juniors just to mention a few, will all be showing their talents to the crowds. President of the Maffra / Sale MX Club Mark Ross commented " We have all put in a lot of hard work to get this event off the ground for 2007 and are thrilled that Yamaha have come on board. The track is in pristine condition and should certainly be at its best for all the riders. We welcome all the riders and their entrants and look forward to a sensational weekends racing" Elite riders will be coming from all states of Australia for the fierce racing. Pro Riders once again will be showing their skill and agility to see who will win the 2007 Australian Title. 2006 Australian Champion Pro Rider Chris Brenton along with 2006 Australian Women's Champion Jeanette Lindsay will be there in full force defending their tittles against all the new and up and coming riders. Western Australian Pro rider Ryan Lancaster, the current 2007 Victorian Champion, will certainly be looking to make the long trek across the Nullarbor once again, to challenge all Pro riders for the Title. Also in force will be Queensland Pro Rider, Luke Beechey, who can definitely hold his own on the track. Local legends Paul Smith, Aaron Ovens and Anthony Dellios will be doing their best to represent Victoria with South Australian Rider Daryl Watson and NSW rider Paul Worth also trying to grab the title. Even the Junior riders are in for the battle of the victory. Local Victorian rider Mitch Van Vliet who has had straight wins at rounds of the QRCV Super Series is itching to get out on the track and let loose on his finely tuned Yamaha Blaster. Jumbo Juniors are coming out in full force with a huge grid for the first time ever and are sure to thrill the crowd with their skill and antics. These ferocious but small quads with their rather oversized riders will be put to the test with E-Ton, Typhoon, Pro Shark, Honda and Suzuki all sharing the limelight. The legendary Holeshot awards introduced last year at the Western Australian Quad Motocross Championships will be back in full swing giving the spectators a thrill to see the riders ready to fight it out for the glory of the holeshot. Now that ATV racing is having a huge impact on the entire motocross scene, racing at Maffra / Sale will certainly be a thrilling event to watch. With the generosity and support of sponsors there will be no doubt that this years Australian Quad Motocross Championships will be supreme both in competition and organisation.
