Australian Hayden Mellross has had another trying weekend at round 6 of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross round last weekend at Petco Park in San Diego, California.
After qualifying directly through his heat The 51FIFTY Energy Drink rider's main event start would got off poorly as he was involved in small first turn pile up. Undeterred and focused, the Yamaha YZ250F rider charged forward passing riders and locking into a battle with Mitchel Harrison and Alex Martin. The Yamaha trio swapped positions for several laps with Mellross edging out both riders before the checkers. It was a strong ride for Hayden from last to 13th in his 6th consecutive Main Event.
"Another day of progression," Mellross said. "It was another difficult track but even with my bad start in the Heat, I remained calm.
"I have more confidence now so I just settled in a pace and focused on making the Main,‰Û
