Australian Andrew Pitt will take to Mallory Park this weekend as he makes his racing debut with the Motorpoint Yamaha team for this weekends round of the MCE British Superbike Championship
‰ÛÏThis is a really exciting time for both Rob and me. We have both had a tough season and are passionate about getting back on track. The BSB is a world-class series with a world-class pace - you only have to look at the leader board in WSB to see that!" Pitt said.
‰ÛÏI have had a few tests at Mallory Park and I have a better feeling about the bike now. I know the pace will be hot but I love getting into the battle and working hard. Let‰Ûªs hope this will be the turning point for the Motorpoint team and myself," the double World Supersport Champion concluded.
Team Manager Rob Mac added, ‰ÛÏMallory Park promises to be a great weekend for the team. It‰Ûªs not going to be easy but we have something to look forward to now with Andrew joining the team, bringing with him a wealth of experience, which I am sure will prove hugely beneficial to Dan.
‰ÛÏOur intention from day one was always to have a young gun with an experienced team leader. Unfortunately, Neil‰Ûªs early departure left the team with young Dan on his own, which wasn‰Ûªt ideal.
‰ÛÏAndrew has had to learn the tracks (as well as the bike) very quickly but he is an old pro and seems to be really enjoying himself. At Mallory Park you have to be ready for the unexpected because with three chicanes and a hairpin it is always going to be manic! Let‰Ûªs hope he has his boxing gloves packed as he‰Ûªs going to need them this weekend.‰Û
